I felt like the introduction to Hooks’ book is a well-expressed summary of what feminism truly is. Most often feminism, like Hook states, is seen as an anti-male movement. It is nothing like that. It is a movement that helps give women the courage to stand up for their rights. Feminism is a movement that opens the eyes of both women and men to the fact that we are equal. What was refreshing was that she made it clear that it isn’t women against men. Women just want to be treated equally. I found her introduction to be easy to read and able to relate too.
